EMS Personnel Application and Eligibility Statement: Print out and sign both forms for submission.
EMT Initial Certification & Renewal
Please refer to Ventura County EMS Policies 301 and 302 for EMT Certification and Renewal requirements.
Naloxone, Epinephrine, and Glucometer Training: All EMT applicants certifying/renewing on or after July 1, 2019, shall submit documentation of successful completion of the following training by an approved EMT training program or approved CE provider (if this has already been provided to the VCEMS Agency, you do not need to repeat this requirement):
- The use of a glucometer
- The use and administration of naloxone or other opioid antagonist
- The use and administration of epinephrine by auto-injector
Continuing Education Limitations: Please refer to VCEMS Policy 1133 for additional requirements and limitations related to prehospital continuing education.
- CE courses shall not be approved for less than one hour of credit.
- For CE courses greater than one (1) CEH, credit may be granted in no less than half-hour increments.
- No more than twelve (12) hours of continuing education, in any form, will be accepted within any twenty-four (24) hour period.
Fees (As of 7/1/2025): Initial EMT Certification is $137.00, EMT Certification Renewal is $97.00.

Paramedic Accreditation and Reaccreditation
Please refer to Ventura County EMS Policy 315 and 318 for Paramedic Accreditation and Reaccreditation requirements.
Fees (As of 7/1/2025): Paramedic Accreditation is $89.00. Unless a paramedic’s accreditation lapses for any reason, there is currently no fee for reaccreditation.
