Lead Week 2025
Lead Week is an annual, national campaign during the last full week of October to bring awareness to and prevent childhood lead exposure. This year, Lead Week takes place October 19–25 and California’s theme is, “Nutrition as prevention.” Everyone is encouraged to get involved with Lead Week by participating in events and sharing these resources about preventing childhood lead poisoning.
Community Workshops
Every Lead Week the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) hosts of themed webinars. This year we have presentations from Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and Los Angeles Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP). Each webinar provides an opportunity for community members to learn about the foods we eat and how something as simple as our diet can help prevent lead poisoning. We encourage all of Ventura County families to register for a presentation. A description of each presentation and a link to register is provided below.
