Homes Ventura County is administering a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant provides funding to control lead-based paint hazards in pre-1978 affordable housing occupied by families (with children under the age of 6, pregnant women, or where children frequently visit) in targeted high-risk area of Ventura County. Our goal is to control and prevent housing\/environmental conditions, which results in childhood lead poisoning. This is accomplished by providing educational information to the public and coordinating with lead-certified contractors for lead abatement.<\/p><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/hca.venturacounty.gov\/public-health\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/02\/HHVC-Registry-Updated-Feb.-2026-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">following units<\/a> were determined to be lead-safe following their participation in the Healthy Homes Ventura County Program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development&#8217;s Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/hca.venturacounty.gov\/public-health\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/02\/HHVC-Registry-Updated-Feb.-2026-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1857\" src=\"https:\/\/hca.venturacounty.gov\/public-health\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/Registry-Houses-e1745878661330-300x295.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hca.venturacounty.gov\/public-health\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/Registry-Houses-e1745878661330-300x295.png 300w, https:\/\/hca.venturacounty.gov\/public-health\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/Registry-Houses-e1745878661330-1024x1007.png 1024w, https:\/\/hca.venturacounty.gov\/public-health\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/Registry-Houses-e1745878661330-768x755.png 768w, https:\/\/hca.venturacounty.gov\/public-health\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/Registry-Houses-e1745878661330.png 1040w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p><p><strong>What does \u201cLead-Safe\u201d mean? <\/strong><\/p><p>&#8220;Lead-Safe&#8221; units were deemed lead-safe based on a lead evaluation in the month shown. &#8220;Lead-safe&#8221; means that there was no deteriorated lead-based paint, no lead-contaminated dust, and no exposed lead-contaminated soil identified at the time of the lead evaluation. This does not mean the property is &#8220;lead-free&#8221; as lead-based paint or lead in the soil may remain.<\/p><p>On-going lead safety requires the owner to safely maintain paint coatings and soil covering and to use lead-safe work practices in maintaining or repairing the unit. Prospective renters or buyers should check with the owner to see if these practices have been followed.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Lead Disclosure Law (Title X)<\/strong><\/p><p>In addition to providing on-going lead safety, the property owner is required to disclose knowledge of lead paint testing results to any prospective renter or buyer at the time of lease or purchase.\u00a0 This means that the property owner must give prospective renters or buyers a copy of all reports pertaining to lead paint hazards or testing.\u00a0 This report can be utilized to identify where lead paint hazards exist on the property.\u00a0 For renters, contact the property owner immediately if chipping or peeling paint is present on surfaces which are listed to contain lead paint so that the lead hazards may be remediated.\u00a0 For more information about the lead disclosure law, view the EPA Lead-Based Paint Disclosure Rule Fact Sheet available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/system\/files\/documents\/2024-09\/lead-disclosure-rule-fact-sheet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">English<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/espanol.epa.gov\/system\/files\/documents\/2025-01\/hoja-informativa-sobre-la-regla-de-divulgacion.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spanish<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About HHVC What is a Healthy Home?
