\/><\/h2><h3>Overview<\/h3><p>In March 2024, California voters approved Proposition 1, transforming behavioral health statewide. The proposition addresses homelessness and serious mental health and substance use issues that often occur together and continue to challenge communities across the state and nation.<\/p><p>Approximately 170,000 Californians are unhoused. Of these, about two-thirds have a behavioral health issue, while only 19% have received treatment. Proposition 1 aims to significantly change these statistics.<\/p><p><strong>Proposition 1 includes a bond to build supportive housing and 10,000 treatment beds statewide, and reallocates existing
